About the Atmosphere
The Atmosphere is the growing community of people and projects building on AT Protocol — the open, decentralized protocol behind Bluesky and a growing ecosystem of apps, tools, and services.
atmosphere.community is the community front door. We aggregate blog posts from our Offprint blog, surface upcoming events from Smoke Signal, and connect you with local AT Protocol communities around the world.
AT Protocol
AT Protocol (Authenticated Transfer Protocol) is an open standard for building social applications. It gives users control over their identity, data, and social connections — so you can move between apps without starting over.
Your Atmosphere account is your identity across the ecosystem. It's portable — you own your handle, your data, and your social graph. Apps built on AT Protocol interoperate, meaning your posts, follows, and interactions work across the entire Atmosphere.
Community Fund
The AT Protocol Community Fund supports projects, events, and infrastructure that strengthen the ecosystem. It has funded community conferences, developer tools, and educational resources.
